In addition to working with a fantastic group of engineers on cool technology our Engineering building is in Hood River, Oregon, a mecca for outdoor sports such as windsurfing, kiteboarding, mountain biking, hiking, whitewater, and skiing (plus many more). Insitu is looking for an enthusiastic Engine Design Engineer Intern to advance the state of the art for Insitu's unmanned aircraft systems. As an Engine Design Engineer on the Propulsion team you will work on a team to design and support sustainment on propulsion systems for Group 2 and Group 3 Unmanned Aircraft Systems in the 25cc to 150cc range.

Tasks include:

  • Participation in all phases of the engine development cycle.
  • Design assistance for engine and component specifications and performance targets.
  • Performs design efforts, layout and evaluation of engine systems and components.
  • Researches and develops methods and technologies to improve performance, reliability, durability and manufacturability.
  • Assesses impact on current design approaches and implements best practices.
  • Perform verification and validation testing and evaluates test outcome data.
  • Reviews and analyzes engine flight and bench test data findings.
  • Establishes areas for design improvement.
  • Evaluates production and configuration problem trends.

Qualifications

Preferto have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0

Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree program preferable

Candidates are required to be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university
