This position is based in Washington DC and reports to the IT help desk manager.

Opportunity:
R4D seeks an IT Operations Intern for the IT and Operations Team. The IT Operations Intern will provide desktop, network, and administrative support to the Internal Operations program.
Responsibilities
  • The IT Operations Intern's responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks including, but not limited to:
  • Provide in person DC Office and remote end-user support, working with the IT helpdesk for Windows 10/11, Mac OS, Office 365 environment.
  • Provide support for Office 365; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive for Business and Adobe Creative Suite installation, configuration, and problem solving / troubleshooting.
  • Provide assistance with setup and operation of audio-visual equipment in R4D conference rooms.
  • Support for IT hardware, (i.e., laptop, printers, docking stations, monitors, etc.), software, asset tracking and management, systems, and general network troubleshooting.
  • Support IT Service Special Projects, as assigned.

By the end of the internship, the candidate will gain the following educational knowledge and training:
  • First-hand experience working in the non-profit sector in the IT and Operations department.
  • Great experience with Azure/ Office 365, Windows 10, Mac OS and network and system security.
  • Integrate knowledge and skills from the classroom into the workplace.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
  • Experience and/or interest in non-profit organizations
  • A major, current studies or certifications in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or related studies.
  • Office experience desired, preferably in a non-profit setting on a team-oriented project
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams....)
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Eligibility: Candidates should be vocational or college/university undergraduate students with less than 2 years of work experience; or graduate students with less than 2 years of work experience.

Internship Requirements: Interns are expected to work 20 hours a week.

Compensation: R4D interns will receive an hourly rate.
